  3. World heavyweight championship:
    John Cena (ch) def. John "Bradshaw" Layfield [w/Shawn Michaels]
    JBL had his "employee" Shawn Michaels at ringside, promising to clear all his debts if he won the title. After JBL knocked out the referee, Michaels delivered the Sweet Chin Music first to JBL, then to Cena, positioning JBL in a pin position, but Cena kicks out, and can pin JBL to retain the title.
  4. WWE championship, No disqualification match:
    Edge [w/Chavo Guerrero] def. Jeff Hardy (ch)
    Edge's "wife", SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero, came out before the match started, changing it to a no-disqualification match. Chavo Guerrero tried to interfere, but received an elbow drop from a ladder down onto the announce table for his efforts. Jeff had a three-count, when Vickie Guerrero interfered, only to be stopped by Matt Hardy. Matt seemed to help Jeff, but attacked Jeff with a steel chair, giving Edge the chance to win by pinfall.

  1. WWE championship, Elimination Chamber match:
    Triple H def. Undertaker, Jeff Hardy, Big Show, Vladimir Kozlov, Edge (ch)
    Jeff Hardy and Edge start out, as SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero designated this as the rematch for Hardy's loss at Royal Rumble. Edge goes for a spear, but Hardy ducks out and rolls up Edge for a quick pinfall to eliminate Edge. Kozlov enters third, Big Show fourth. Triple H fifth and Undertaker last before any further eliminations. Undertaker pins Kozlov after the Last Ride powerbomb. Undertaker hits a superplex on Big Show, Triple H a pedigree and Hardy a Swanton bomb from the top of the pod, allowing Triple H to cover Big Show for the pinfall. Undertaker next eliminates Hardy after a tombstone piledriver. Undertaker goes for the Last Ride, but Triple H breaks out, hitting a piledriver for the pinfall victory.
  2. No holds barred match:
    Randy Orton def. Shane McMahon
    Orton is down, and McMahon goes for a punt when Orton counters with an RKO out of nowhere, getting the pinfall.
  3. ECW championship:
    Jack Swagger (ch) def. Finlay [w/Hornswoggle]
    Swagger rams Finley into Hornswoggle, distracting Swagger for long enough to hit the gutwrench powerbomb for the pinfall.
  4. All or nothing match:
    Shawn Michaels def. John "Bradshaw" Layfield
    Stipulation: If JBL wins, Michaels works for JBL for the rest of his life. If Michaels wins, he is released. Michaels is almost counted out, but makes it back to the ring at nine. Michaels goes on to hit the Sweet Chin Music on JBL to get the pinfall victory.
  5. World heavyweight championship, Elimination Chamber match:
    Edge def. Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho, John Cena (ch), Mike Knox, Kane
    Kofi Kingston was supposed to take part in the match, but was taken out by Edge on his way into the ring, allowing Edge to take Kingston's place in the match. Mysterio and Jericho start out with Kane entering third. Mysterio hits a seated Senton bomb from the top of the pod on Kane, getting the pinfall for the elimination. Knox enters as number four, and gets eliminated by Jericho after a Codebreaker. Edge enters fifth and is immediately attacked by Mysterio. Cena enters sixth, and is eliminated third after a Codebreaker from Jericho, a 619 from Mysterio and a spear from Edge. Edge gets the pinfall. Jericho goes for the Walls of Jericho on Mysterio, but Mysterio reverses it for a pinfall. Edge survives a reverse 619 from Mysterio, and instead hits a spear to get the pinfall victory to win the championship.

  1. Money in the Bank, Ladder Match:
    CM Punk def. Mark Henry [w/Tony Atlas], M.V.P (US champion), Finlay [w/Hornswoggle], Shelton Benjamin, Kofi Kingston, Christian, Kane
    Christian has two ladders in the ring, and is making the way to the top, when CM Punk stops him. Kane climbs the ladder, taking out Christan. Punk kicks Kane off the ladder, allowing Punk to retrieve the briefcase, winning a contract that at any time in the following year can be cashed in for a title match of his choice.
  2. 25 Diva Battle Royal:
    "Santina" won by last eliminating Beth Phoenix and Melina
    The other participants were: Alicia Fox, Brie Bella, Eve Torres, Gail Kim, Jackie Gayda, Jillian Hall, Joy Giovanni, Katie Lea Burchill, Kelly Kelly, Layla, Maria, Maryse, Melina, Michelle McCool, Mickie James, Molly Holly, Natalya, Nikki Bella, Rosa Mendes, Sunny, Tiffany, Torrie Wilson, Victoria. "Santina" was crowned Miss WrestleMania. "Santina" was of course Santino Marella, dressed up as a female wrestler.
  3. 3-on-1 elimination match, Legends match:
    Chris Jericho def. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat & Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka & Rowdy Roddy Piper [w/Ric Flair]
    Order of elimination:
    1. Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka (subm.)
    2. Rowdy Roddy Piper
    3. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat
    Jericho first eliminates Snuka when Snuka taps out to the Walls of Jericho. Piper locks Jericho in a sleeper hold, but Jericho escapes and hits a running enziguri to pin Piper. Jericho last eliminates Steamboat after a Codebreaker. After the match, Jericho challenged Mickey Rourke (who just had starred in the movie "The Wrestler") from the audience, who came in and knocked Jericho down.
  4. Extreme Rules:
    Matt Hardy def. Jeff Hardy
    In this no-holds barred match, the brothers tried to outdo each other in finding weapons to attack the other. Matt hits the Twist of Fate on Jeff, who has his head trapped in a steel chair, to get the pinfall victory.
  5. Intercontinental championship:
    Rey Mysterio def. John "Bradshaw" Layfield (ch)
    Rey won in 21 seconds, getting a pinfall after a frog splash, causing JBL to immediately announcing that he is quitting wrestling.
  6. Undertaker def. Shawn Michaels
    After a long and grueling match, Michaels hits an elbow drop from the top rope, but only manages to get a two count. Undertaker hits a second piledriver, after Michaels kicked out of the first, getting the pinfall and keeping his undefeated streak at WrestleMania, with 17 straight wins.
  7. World Heavyweight Championship, Triple Threat Match:
    John Cena def. Big Show, Edge (ch) [w/Vickie Guerrero & Chavo Guerrero]
    Cena hits the AA on Big Show, then on Edge, pinning Big Show for the victory.
  8. WWE Championship, count-out and DQ wins championship:
    Triple H (ch) def. Randy Orton
    With the refere out, Triple H hits Orton with a sledgehammer, allowing him to hit the pedigree for the pinfall to retain the championship.

Backlash 2009

  1. ECW championship:
    Christian def. Jack Swagger (ch)
    Swagger goes to expose the top turnbuckle, but the referee catches him. Christian uses the confusion to expose the turnbuckle in his end without the referee noticing. Swagger runs into the exposed turnbuckle, allowing Christian to hit the killswitch for the pinfall victory.
  2. Chris Jericho def. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat (subm.)
    Steamboat locks Jericho in the figure-four leglock, but Jericho makes it to the rope, forcing Steamboat to break the hold. After trading pinfall attampts, Jericho applies the Wall of Jericho, forcing Steamboat to tap out.
  3. Kane def. CM Punk
    Kane goes for the chokeslam, but Punk lands an enziguri and a roundhouse kick to slow him down. It's not enough, however, and Kane catches Punk and hits the chokeslam for the pinfall.
  4. "I Quit" match:
    Jeff Hardy def. Matt Hardy
    Matt puts Jeff on a table set up in the ring, and tapes his legs and arms together and ties him to the table. Jeff sets up a table and climbs it. Jeff is about to perform a legdrop from the ladder when Matt pleads to Jeff and eventually says "I Quit". Jeff performs the legdrop anyway.
  5. Santina Marella (ch) def. Beth Phoenix [w/Rosa Mendes]
    The Great Khali calls out Santina Marella, but is interrupted by Beth Phoenix who challenges him/her for the "Miss WrestleMania" title. Khali knocks out Phoenix, allowing Marella to pin Phoenix to retain the title.
  6. WWE championship, Six-man-tagteam match:
    The Legacy (Randy Orton & Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase) def. Triple H (ch) & Batista & Shane McMahon
    Stipulation: If Triple H or anyone on his team is pinned, disqualified or counted out, Orton wins the championship. Rhodes hits a DDT on Orton and goes on to take out McMahon and Batista outside the ring. Triple H makes it to his feet, but Orton hits an RKO for a two-count. Orton follows up with a punt for the three-count.
  7. World heavyweight championship, Last man standing match:
    Edge def. John Cena (ch)
    Cena locks Edge in the STF, and Edge tries to tap out, but this doesn't end the match. Cena hits an AA from the second rope, getting a nine-count. The two men make it to the entrance ramp, where Cena sets up Edge for the AA, when Big Show chokeslams Cena through a spotlight. Cena passes out and is not able to answer the ten-count, giving Edge the victory and the championship.

Judgment Day 2009

2009-05-17, Allstate Arena, Rosemont, Illinois, USA

  1. Umaga def. CM Punk
    Punk lands multiple kicks to Umaga and tries to pick him up for a Go to Sleep, but fails. Umaga hits a round-house kick and finishes Punk off with the Samoan Spike to get the pinfall.
  2. ECW championship:
    Christian (ch) def. Jack Swagger
    This was Swagger's rematch from Backlash. Swagger counters the killswitch and tries to hit Christian with a clothesline. Christian counters, rolling up Swagger and gets the pinfall while holding on to Swagger's tights for leverage.
  3. John Morrison def. Shelton Benjamin [w/Charlie Haas]
    Benjamin misses a dive into the corner, allowing Morrison to land the Starship Pain for the pinfall.
  4. Intercontinental championship:
    Rey Mysterio (ch) def. Chris Jericho
    Mysterio goes for the 619, but Jericho catches him and locks Mysterio in the Walls of Jericho, but Mysterio escapes. Mysterio trips Jericho and hits a 619 into the corner, following up with a springboard splash for the pinfall to retain the championship.
  5. WWE championship:
    Batista def. Randy Orton (ch) (dq)
    After battling outside the ring Orton tries to leave the ring to get counted out, but Batista brings him back to the ring. Orton goes for an RKO, but Batista counters it and throws Orton into the referee. Orton slaps the referee, getting him disqualified. After the match, Orton's Legacy buddies Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase Jr. runs in, attacking Batista, but are stopped by Ric Flair.
  6. John Cena def. Big Show
    Big Show dominates the early match, but Cena manages a comeback and hits the Attitude Adjustments to get a three-count.
  7. World heavyweight championship:
    Edge (ch) def. Jeff Hardy
    While outside the ring, Matt Hardy attacks Jeff, striking him with his right arm which is a cast. Jeff being knocked out, Edge goes for a spear, but misses and runs into the ringpost. Hardy climbs the ring ropes to go for a Swanton bomb, but is unable to get all the way before Edge climbs and hits the Edgecution, getting the pinfall to retain the championship.

    Kofi pinned Regal after the Trouble in paradise.

    Pinfall after the Batista bomb.

    Big Show tapped out after a Cena got a sleeper hold on him.
  8. World heavyweight championship, Ladder match:

    Hardy claimed the title after trapping Edge to the ladder.

    CM Punk def. Jeff Hardy (ch)
    CM Punk cashed in his Money in the Bank contract from WrestleMania XXV and pinned Hardy after performing the Go to sleep twice.

    Tommy Dreamer (ch) def. Jack Swagger, Christian, Mark Henry [w/Tony Atlas], Finlay
    Christian and Swagger started out, with Finlay entering three minutes later. Swagger scored the first victory over Finlay, becoming the first interim champion. Dreamer and Henry entered next, with Henry pinning Dreamer to become the next interim champion, followed by Swagger pinning Henry. Dreamer performed a DDT on Christian after catching him in a facelock, for a pinfall. He then successfully held on to the title until the time limit, to win the match and retain his title.
  2. Intercontinental championship, Mask vs. title match:
    Rey Mysterio def. Chris Jericho (ch)
    Jericho attempted to remove the mask, but found another one beneath it. Mysterio took advantage of the confusion, executing a 619 and a frog splash for the victory.
  3. No count-out, no disqualification:
    Dolph Ziggler def. The Great Khali [w/Ranjin Singh]
    Kane attacked Khali, allowing Ziggler to win by pinfall.
  4. Unified tag team championship, triple threat match:
    Edge & Chris Jericho def. The Colóns (Carlito and Primo) (ch), The Legacy (Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase)
    The match was originally between Colóns and Legacy, but was made a triple-threat match by SmackDown general manager Theodore Long. Edge pinned Carlito after a spear.
  5. Women's championship:
    Michelle McCool [w/Alicia Fox] def. Melina (ch)
    McCool pinned Melina after the faith breaker.
  6. World heavyweight championship:
    Jeff Hardy def. CM Punk (ch) (dq)
    Hardy got a pinfall on Punk, but as Punk had his foot was under the rope, the result was reversed and the match continued. Punk kicked the referee with a roundhouse kick, which had him disqualify, retaining the title.
  7. John Cena def. The Miz (subm.)
    Miz submitted to Cena's STF.
  8. WWE championship, three stages of hell match:
    Randy Orton (ch) def. Triple H
    1. 1st fall: Standard match:
      Randy Orton def. Triple H (dq)
      Triple H was disqualified for using a chair.
    2. 2nd fall: Falls count anywhere match:
      Triple H def. Randy Orton
      Triple H pinned Orton after a pedigree outside the ring.
    3. 3rd fall: Stretcher match:
      Randy Orton def. Triple H

    James countered Maryse's French Kiss with a Mickie-DT, to get a pinfall and win the title.

    Shawn Michaels pinned Cody Rhodes after hitting the Sweet Chin Music.

    Christian pinned Regal after the killswitch. After the match, Jackson and Kozlov entered the ring, attacking Regal.

    Orton countered Cena's Attitude Adjustment, attacking the referee and getting himself disqualified. Vince McMahon, however, ordered the match restarted with an added stipulation that Orton could lose the title by disqualification. Cena had Orton in an STF, but was attacked by Brett DiBiase as Orton was about to submit. Orton finally managed to connect the RKO and win by pinfall.
  8. Tables, ladders and chairs match, Heavyweight championship:
    CM Punk def. Jeff Hardy (ch)
    Both Punk and Hardy was on a ladder about to grab the title belt suspended above the ring, but Punk was able to push Hardy off it, grabbing the belt for himself to win. During his victory celebration, Undertaker appeared, chokeslamming him.

    In the first-ever match of this kind, action took place all over the arena. Rhodes performed a figure-four leglock around the ring post on Michaels, while DiBiase had him in the Million Dollar Dream, making Michaels eventually tap out.

  5. ECW championship:
    Christian (ch) def. William Regal [w/Ezekiel Jackson & Vladimir Kozlov]
    Jackson and Kozlov were banned from the ring, allowing Christian to get the pinfall after a Kill Switch.
  6. WWE championship, "I Quit match":
    John Cena def. Randy Orton (ch)
    Stipulation: If anyone interferes for Orton's behalf, he loses the title. Orton said "I Quit" after Cena had Orton in his STF hold, while being handcuffed to Orton.
  7. World heavyweight championship, submission match:
    CM Punk (ch) def. Undertaker
    Punk tapped out to Undertaker's Hell's Gate, but Theodore Long interrupted Undertaker's celebration saying the move had been banned, ordering the match to continue. Punk immediately applied the Anaconda Vice and the bell rang, despite Undertaker never actually submitting.

  8. Tag team Hell in a Cell match: D-Generation X (Triple H & Shawn Michaels) def. The Legacy (Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase)
    DX won by pinfall after finishing off Rhodes with a combined sledgehammer/Sweet Chin Music.

  3. World heavyweight championship, Fatal four way:
    Undertaker (ch) def. CM Punk, Batista, Rey Mysterio
    Batista had Undertaker in pinfall position, but was broken by Rey Mysterio. Rey and Batista started fighting, which gave Undertaker the opportunity to chokeslam Batista, after which Undertaker could pin Batista after a tombstone piledriver. After the match, Batista turned on his friend Rey Mysterio.
  4. Third bragging rights match:
    Team SmackDown (captains: Chris Jericho (Unified tag team champion) & Kane, with Matt Hardy & Finlay & R-Truth & The Hart Dynasty (David Hart Smith & Tyson Kidd)) def. Team Raw (captains: D-Generation X (Shawn Michaels & Triple H), with Big Show (Unified tag team champion) & Cody Rhodes & Jack Swagger & Mark Henry & Kofi Kingston)
    Big Show chokeslammed Kofi Kingston to give Chris Jericho the opportunity to pinfall him. SmackDown wins the Bragging Rights trophy with two victories to one.
  5. WWE championship, Falls count anywhere, Iron Man match:

    Falls:
    1. Orton quickly submits to a STF from Cena (Cena-Orton 1-0).
    2. Cena got a pinned after the RKO (1-1).
    3. Double pinfall, with both wrestlers out on the mat (2-2).
    4. Cena pins Orton after Attitude Adjustment from the ropes (3-2).
    5. Orton pins Cena after Legacy members Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase interferes (3-3).
    6. Orton pins Cena in the back of the arena after throwing him through the electrical scoreboard (3-4).

    Batista pins Undertaker after a low blow and a chair to the head. SmackDown manager Teddy Long restarts the match due to the low blow (chairs are legal). Undertaker quickly sets a tombstone to retain the title.

    Orton pins Kingston after an RKO.
  7. Unified tag team championship, Tables, Ladders and Chairs match:
    D-Generation X (Triple H & Shawn Michaels) def. Chris Jericho & Big Show (ch)
    Shawn climbs half a ladder, held up by Triple H, to claim the titles for DX, after having eliminated Big Show from the ring using said ladder.
