    Hager reverses cross-arm break into ankle lock. With the referee momentarily distracted, Hager hits a low blow. With a triangle hold, he gets a submission victory.
  2. Darby Allin def. Sammy Guevara
    The two men start beating each other outside the ring, using the guard rail, Allin's skateboard and Guevara doing a 630 senton through a table on Allin. When the fight makes it into the ring, Allin gets a pinfall after a coffin drop.
  3. AEW tagteam championship:
    Kenny Omega & Adam Page (ch) def. The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson)
    Emotions were running wild as these two teams of former Elite friends battled each other. The highly athletic style of the Young Bucks meeting the heavier and more powerful style of their opponents, but knowing each other so well neither team found a way to finish off the other for a long time. Matt takes out Page with a set of Northern Light Suplexes on the entrance ramp and think they have the match won, but Kenny Omega does not go down so easily. Bucks set up Omega for the Meltzer Driver, but it takes just long enough for Page to block them. Page hits a buckshot lariat on Matt to get a hard-fought pinfall victory for his team.
  4. AEW Women's championship:
    Nyla Rose (ch) def. Kris Statlander
    Statlander, who matches Rose in height while not in weight, tries to hit a hurricanrana from the top rope. She did not get it, and instead Rose hits a powerbomb to get the pinfall victory.
  5. MJF [w/Wardlow] def. Cody [w/Arn Anderson]
    MJF hits Rhodes with the diamond ring to take out Cody to get the pinfall victory.
  6. Pac def. Orange Cassidy [w/Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta)] (subm.)
    Cassidy surprises Pac by doing some amazing moves, but the match quickly turns around when Pac takes the match to outside the ring. Pac does a brain buster from the top rope, but pulls Cassidy up before the three-count. He then sets up the Back Arrow, but Cassidy rolls out. The Lucha Bros. come to the ring, taking out Best Friends, allowing Pac to hit the Brutalizer for the submission victory.
  7. AEW World championship:
    Jon Moxley [w/Santana & Ortiz] def. Chris Jericho (ch)
    The match immediately moves outside the ring, with Jericho trying to get himself disqualified. Jericho powerbombs Moxley on the timekeeper's table. Hager comes out, helping Jericho, who puts Moxley in the Walls of Jericho, but Moxley eventually gets a ring-rope break. While the referee is busy sending the entire entourage back to the locker room, Sammy Guevara comes to the ring, taking out Moxley with the championship belt. Moxley comes back, and gets a pinfall victory after the Paradigm shift.

TNT championship tournament 2020

2020-04-08 to 2020-05-23, Nightmare Factory, Norcross, Georgia, USA

A tournament was set up to crown the inaugural TNT champion, with the finals scheduled for Double or Nothing. The matches were taped early April due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the dates below are the air dates.

First round:

  1. AEW Dynamite 2020-04-08: Cody [w/Brandi Rhodes] def. Shawn Spears
    Cody covers Spears after the Cross Rhodes, but fails to get the pinfall victory. Instead he locks the figure four leglock, but instead of a submission, he manages to get a pinfall victory.
  2. AEW Dynamite 2020-04-15: Lance Archer def. Colt Cabana
    Archer pins Cabana after the blackout.
  3. AEW Dynamite 2020-04-22: Darby Allin def. Sammy Guevara
    Guevara attacks Allin outside the ring before the match starts, but all Guevara gets are a couple of two-counts. Allin locks in the Last Supper to get the pinfall victory.
  4. Dustin Rhodes [w/Brandi Rhodes] def. Kip Sabian [w/Penelope Ford]
    Rhodes had decided that if he lost this match, he would retire from wrestling in AEW. Rhodes gets the pinfall after the Destroyer.

Semi-finals:

  1. AEW Dynamite 2020-04-29: Cody [w/Brandi Rhodes] def. Darby Allin
    Cody tries the coffin drop on Allin, but Allin gets his knees up. Allin performs a coffin drop of his own, but Cody manages to roll him up with a backslide to get the pinfall victory.
  2. Lance Archer def. Dustin Rhodes [w/Brandi Rhodes]
    Archer completely destroys Rhodes, to advance to the tournament final.

Originally scheduled to take place at MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, it was moved to a closed set due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

  1. Casino ladder match:
    Brian Cage [w/Taz] def. Frankie Kazarian, Scorpio Sky, Kip Sabian [w/Penelope Ford], Darby Allin, Orange Cassidy, Colt Cabana, Joey Janela, Luchasaurus
    First to grab the poker chip above the ring gets a future opportunity for the AEW World championship. Two men start out, with a new person entering every two minutes until everyone has entered, or someone has grabbed the chip. Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky of SoCal Uncensored start out, Kip Sabian enters third, getting some help from Jimmy Havoc to take out the SCU. Darby Allin enters fourth, trying to take out Kazarian by jumping him on his skateboard from the top of a ladder, hurting his leg and not returning until all other enters the match. Cassidy enters fifth, taking a detour through the commentary booth asking how to win the match before entering. Cabana enters sixth, Janela seventh and Luchasaurus eighth. Brian Cage is the mystery ninth entrant, climbing the ladder with Cassidy on his back, not stopping until all other competitors bring him down, burying him beneath a pile of junk outside the ring. Cage breaks free, taking out everyone and climbs the ladder to grab the chip and win the match.
  2. MJF [w/Wardlow] def. Jungle Boy
    Jungle Boy has MJF in a crossface lock, but MJF bites his way out of the hold. After a series of pin reversals, MJF eventually gets the three-count using a modified European clutch.
  3. TNT championship tournament final:
    Cody [w/Arn Anderson & Brandi Rhodes] def. Lance Archer [w/Jake "The Snake" Roberts]
    "Iron" Mike Tyson came to the ring first with the new championship belt, there to present it to the inaugural champion. Archer tried to slowly break down Cody, using his size advantage. Cody goes for a springboard cutter from the top rope, but only gets a one-count. Anderson and Roberts are thrown out from ringside, but when Roberts try to return with a snake, he is stopped by Tyson. Cody hits the Cross Rhodes twice, to become the champion.
  4. Kris Statlander def. Penelope Ford [w/Kip Sabian]
    Ford replaced the injured Dr. Britt Baker. Statlander takes out both Ford and Sabian outside the ring in a dive through the ring ropes. Back in the ring, she hits the Big Bang Theory on Ford to get the pinfall victory.
  5. Dustin Rhodes [w/Brandi Rhodes] def. Shawn Spears
    Spears comes out in a suit, not dressed to wrestle, citing rumours Rhodes not being in the house as the match was made on Dynamite the same week. Spears demanded the referee count Rhodes out, but Rhodes appears. After stripping Spears down to his underwear, Rhodes hits the Final Reckoning and gets the pinfall.
  6. AEW Women's championship, No disqualification, no count-out:
    Hikaru Shida def. Nyla Rose (ch)
    The match started out with the two attacking each other with Shida's kendo stick in the ring, but quickly spilled outside, where Rose slams Shida through a poker table. Back in the ring, Rose sets up a table in the ring corner and sends Shida through it, but is unable to get the pinfall. Shida takes Rose down using the kendo stick, getting the pinfall to become the new champion.
  7. AEW World championship:
    Jon Moxley (ch) def. Mr. Brodie Lee (subm.)
    This match also quickly spills outside, where Moxley is suplexed onto a guard rail and Lee into the ring announcer's area. Moxley hits the Paradigm Shift on Lee on the rampway to the ring, breaking it and falling to the floor below. After two other paradigm shifts in the ring, Moxley applies a sleeper and gets the submission victory as Lee does not respond to the referee.

Match from TIAA Bank Field (adjacent, taped 2020-05-22):

  1. Stadium Stampede:
    The Elite (The Young Bucks (Nick Jackson & Matt Jackson) & Kenny Omega & "Broken" Matt Hardy & Hangman Adam Page) def. Inner Circle (Chris Jericho & Jake Hager & Sammy Guevara & Santana & Ortiz)
    A ring was set up at the 50-yard line of an American football stadium, with the two teams starting from each side. Pinfalls count anywhere. The "match" went on around the entire arena complex, until Omega hits the One Winged Angle on Sammy Guevara.

Fyter Fest

2020-07-01 and 2020-07-02, Daily's Place, Jacksonville, Florida, USA

Originally scheduled to take place in London, England, UK, it was moved to a closed set due to the Covid-19 pandemic and held as two special episodes of AEW Dynamite.

Part 1 (AEW Dynamite 2020-07-01):

  1. Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus) [w/Marco Stunt] def. MJF & Wardlow
    MJF inadvertently hits Wardlow with the Dynamite Diamond Ring, allowing Luchasaurus to take out Wardlow and get the pinfall victory for his team.
  2. AEW Women's championship:
    Hikaru Shida (ch) def. Penelope Ford [w/Kip Sabian]
    Sabian is ejected from the ring even before the match starts, for putting his hands on the referee. Shida hits the Falcon Arrow on Ford, but she reverses it. With the referee distracted, Sabian comes back in trying to attack Shida with the kendo stick. He misses, but Ford almost gets a pinfall due to the distraction. After a second Falcon Arrow, Shida eventually gets the pinfall to retain the championship.
  3. TNT championship:
    Cody Rhodes (ch) [w/Arn Anderson] def. Jake Hager [w/Catalina]
    With the referee distracted, Dustin Rhodes comes to the ring, attacking Hager. Hager counters cross rhodes into a triangle, but Rhodes counters and gets the pinfall victory.
  4. Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) [w/Matt Hardy] def. Santana & Ortiz
    Quen pins Ortiz to get the pinfall victory after a double-team bulldog.
  5. AEW tagteam championship:
    Kenny Omega & Adam Page (ch) def. Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta)
    Best Friends hit the Strong Zero on Page, but Omega saves him just in time to avoid the three-count. Page hits the Dead-Eye and a buckshot lariat on Trent, to retain the championships.

Part 2 (AEW Dynamite 2020-07-08, taped 2020-07-02):

  1. AEW tagteam championship:
    Kenny Omega & Adam Page (ch) def. Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) [w/Matt Hardy]
    Page pins Kassidy after the Last Call double-team move.
  2. Lance Archer [w/Jake "The Snake" Roberts] def. Joey Janela
    Archer drives Janela through a table outside the ring, then brings Janela back into the ring to get the three-count.
  3. The Butcher & The Blade & Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fénix) def. FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) & The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson)
    Pentagon Jr. pins Matt Jackson after he and Fénix performs the LP Driver on him.
  4. 2-on-1 handicap match:
    Nyla Rose def. Kenzie Paige & Kylinn King
    Rose powerbombs her two opponents on top of each other and cover both for the pinfall victory.
  5. Dark Order (Mr. Brody Lee & Stu Grayson & Colt Cabana) def. SoCal Uncensored (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky)
    Lee takes out Grayson with a discus lariat, and gives Cabana the pin count.
  6. Chris Jericho [w/Santana & Ortiz] def. Orange Cassidy
    Jericho attacks Cassidy with the baseball bat when the referee is distracted, but Cassidy kicks out. Jericho eventually hits the Judas Effect to get the pinfall victory.

    Rhodes pins Kiss after the Cross Rhodes.

    Harwood rips the mask off Fénix, and rolls him up for a small package as Fénix desperately tries to hide his face and is unable to defend himself.
  3. The Elite (Kenny Omega (tag ch) & Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) def. Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus & Marko Stunt)
    Omega hits the One-Winged Angel on Stunt to get the pinfall victory.
  4. The Nightmare Sisters (Allie & Brandi Rhodes) [w/Dustin Rhodes) def. Kenzie Paige & MJ Jenkins
    Allie pins Jenkins after a DDT.
  5. AEW World championship:
    Jon Moxley (ch) def. Brian Cage [w/Taz] (subm.)
    This match was originally schedules for the previous week's Fyter Fest, but was postponed as Moxley was in quarantine due to his wife Renee Young having contracted Covid-19. Moxley goes to work on Cage's newly healed biceps, and when Moxley locks Cage in an armbar Taz throws in the towel, giving Moxley the victory by submission.

    The Young Bucks seemed to be both more desperate and more aggressive than usual. Matt pins Jungle Boy after a second BTE Trigger, after he kicks out of the first.

    Matt Hardy def. Sammy Guevara
    Stipulation: If Hardy loses, he must leave AEW. This was a last man standing match that started at the adjacent TIAA Bank Field. Guevara tries to spear Hardy through a table from a forklift and falls badly. The medical personell tries to stop the match, but Hardy refuses to stop and it is declared that the match must have a winner. The match spills back into the ring area. The wrestlers climb the scaffolding, Guevara is dropped and is unable to answer the ten-count, giving Hardy the victory.
  5. AEW Women's championship:
    Hikaru Shida (ch) def. Thunder Rosa
    Rosa was NWA Women's champion and Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling International Princess champion at the time, although she was introduced only as NWA champion. Shida pins Rosa after a running knee to retain the championship.
  6. Matt Cardona & Scorpio Sky & The Natural Nightmares (Dustin Rhodes & QT Marshall) [w/Allie & Brandi Rhodes] def. Dark Order (Brodie Lee (TNT ch) & Colt Cabana & Evil Uno & Stu Grayson) [w/Anna Jay]
    Cabana goes for a moonsault on Rhodes, but he moved away and instead rolls up Cabana for the pinfall.
  7. AEW tagteam championship:
    FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) [w/Tully Blanchard] def. Kenny Omega & Adam Page (ch)
    Wheeler pins Page after a piledriver.
  8. Mimosa Mayhem:
    Orange Cassidy def. Chris Jericho
    Stipulation: Match can be won by pinfall, submission, or throwing the opponent into a tank of mimosa. With Jericho on the top turnbuckle, Cassidy hits him with a running forearm, dropping him in the tank of mimosa.
  9. AEW World championship:
    Jon Moxley (ch) def. MJF [w/Wardlow]
    Stipulation: Moxley's Paradigm Shift was banned. Mox pins MJF after a double underhook DDT to retain the championship.

First round:

  1. AEW Dynamite 2020-10-21: Wardlow def. Jungle Boy
    Wardlow performs a airplane spin on Jungle Boy and then drops him flat. He then gets a pinfall victory to advance.
  2. Kenny Omega def. Sonny Kiss
    Sonny Kiss replaced Joey Janela, who was in Covid-19 quarantine. Omega quickly applies the One-Winged Angel and gets the pinfall victory.
  3. Rey Fénix def. Penta El Zero M
    Fénix hits the Destroyer on his brother Penta, getting the pinfall victory.
  4. "Hangman" Adam Page def. Colt Cabana
    Pinfall after a buckshot lariat.

Semi-finals:

These matches were taped on 2020-10-22.

  1. AEW Dynamite 2020-10-28: "Hangman" Adam Page def. Wardlow
    Page pins Wardlow after the buckshot lariat.
  2. Kenny Omega def. Penta El Zero Miedo [w/Rey Fénix]
    Rey Fénix forfeited his position in the semi-final to his brother Penta due to a neck injury. Penta tries to take out Omega's right arm, but Omega still manages to hit the One-Winged Angel to get the pinfall victory.

    Kenny Omega def. "Hangman" Adam Pager
    The match between the two former tag team champions quickly got physical and spilled outside the ring. Omega eventually hit the One-Winged Angel to get the pinfall victory and become the number one contender for the AEW World championship.
  2. Orange Cassidy [w/Best Friends] def. John "4" Silver [w/Dark Order]
    Cassidy picks up the pinfall victory after a back body drop.
  3. TNT championship:
    Darby Allin def. Cody Rhodes (ch)
    Allin hits a Coffin drop on Rhodes, but is unable to get the pinfall. Rhodes rolls up Allin, who counters, and after rolling back and forth a few times Allin eventually manages to keep Rhodes down for the referee to count to three.
  4. AEW Women's championship:
    Hikaru Shida (ch) Nyla Rose [w/Vickie Guerrero]
    Shida had Rose down for the pinfall but drags Rose's head up to break the count. Guerrero interferes, allowing Rose to gain some momentum. It is not enough and Shida retains the championship by pinfall after a knee to the face.
  5. AEW tagteam championship:
    The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) def. FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) (ch)
    FTR's manager Tully Blanchard was banned from ringside after having interfered in previous matches. Wheeler misses a 450 springboard slash on Matt whe Matt rolls away. Matt answers with a superkick with the foot that FTR had removed his shoe from, knocking out Wheeler to get the pinfall victory.
  6. Elite Deletion match:
    Matt Hardy def. Sammy Guevara
    This match took place in the woods at the Hardy compound, partly in an outdoor wrestling ring. Ortiz and Santana from Inner Circle came in attacking Hardy, who called for Private Party's Quen and Kassidy who arrived to take them out. At one point, Gangrel showed up, holding Hurricane Helms hostage. They end up in an indoor ring, and the match end when Hardy pins Guevara on the concrete floor after delivering a chair to the back of the head.
  7. MJF [w/Wardlow] def. Chris Jericho
    Stipulation: If MJF wins, he joins Inner Circle. MJF calls for Wardlow, who hands him the Dynamite Diamond ring. With the refere distracted, Jake Hager hands Jericho a baseball bat. MJF plays knocked out and while the referee talks to Jericho, MJF quickly rolls him up for the pinfall.
  8. AEW World championship, I Quit match:
    Jon Moxley (ch) def. Eddie Kingston
    Kingston sets up a couple of steel chairs in the ring, but Moxley answers with a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire. The match gets more extreme from there. When Moxley locks Kingston in a camel clutch with barbed wire, Kingston finally calls quits.
