I bought this Commodore +4 on eBay somewhere around 2003. When I finally got around to testing it properly, it was running fine, but I was unable to get it to read anything from cassette. I was told that this was due to the 8501 CPU failing, which apparently is a common problem. Replacing the 8501 with a 6502to8501 did fix those issues.
I still think this is the most beautiful computer ever designed.
