I bought these two Commodore 16s on eBay from a seller in Denmark during September 2003. I believe I tested them briefly when I got them, before putting them away in storage, but when I took them back out in September 2025, I only found one of them to be working.
I was not able to get this device to power on when I tested it. When I opened it up, I found some evidence of tampering, the fuse is replaced with some foil. I got some help of a colleague to debug, and it was just the power switch that was broken, so we replaced that.

I had a
Fixteen memory expansion
built and have upgraded the internal memory to 64 kilobytes.
Does that make the machine a Commodore 64, or perhaps a Minus 4?

This device powers on fine, but when I connect a Datasette to it, it goes all weird. I installed a Fixteen also in this one, but it is not working as it is supposed to. It seems that the memory chips are broken, because when I disable the jumper, it starts as expected (but with the original memory size).
