I remember such things for the IEEE-488 bus, but I've never
personally seen one for the serialized IEC bus. In case the
older code would help illuminate the nature of "true" IEEE
usage, ISTR it appeared in the "BAID" firmware add-on for the PET.
I do not have a listing, but I have a binary copy in a 2532 in
my 2001-N.
