code+data, without .bss section and buffers. also the lowlevel SD card stuff 
is excluded.

to give another figure: in MMC64 (and MMCR) the FAT stuff was hardcoded in 
somewhat optimized assembly, and the read/write version didnt fit into one 8k 
ROM (together with the menu and filebrowser, which eat about 2k or so)
