It is "bad chip RAM", but the cause is usually the Fat(ter) Agnus chip not responding correctly, not bad DRAM chips. Make sure the Agnus is seated properly. If so, remove it with a chip puller and check the pins for alignment problems. Check the socket for cracks at the corners. The previous owner might have attempted to remove the Agnus without a chip puller and busted the socket or bent some pins. Best solution: replace the socket and/or Agnus chip if reseating does not help. Later A-500s had a metal clip to help keep the Agnus in place during shipping. -ethan ===== Infinet has been sold.
