Ah, the good old days... I used the cassette ports to move stuff between PETs and VIC/C64s; still have the 30 foot cable that ran between the "play" systems in the basement and the "business" system (with the disk drive) in the upstairs office; just a TTL inverter chip, no custom software needed. Still have the computers too, and even used the old cable a few weeks ago. mike ****************************************************************************** ---------- From: Ethan Dicks[SMTP:ethan.dicks@gmail.com] Sent: Friday, April 23, 2010 12:47 PM To: cbm-hackers@musoftware.de Subject: Re: Multimachine Games using 2 PET 2001s On 4/23/10, B Degnan <billdeg@degnanco.com> wrote: > Following in the footsteps of Larry Anderson whom I met briefly at VCF > 9, and in honor of the PET Alive! event, I thought I'd take a crack at > the experiments listed in the article Multimachine Games by Ken > Wasserman and Tim Stryker from Byte December 1980. C. 1982 or 1983, I made a cable and wrote a file transfer program to move programs between my C-64 (because it had a floppy drive) and my PET (which was cassette only). I had intended to put the PET file-transfer client in ROM, but I stopped using the PET before the code was refined that far. It did work to load files from the 1541 through the C64 to the PET, and I think it might have even worked to save files from the PET (to get things onto floppy), but it's been so long that I could have abandoned my efforts before that aspect of things was fully finished. -ethan Message was sent through the cbm-hackers mailing list Message was sent through the cbm-hackers mailing listReceived on 2010-04-23 22:00:13
