Tandberg no more
Published: Wednesday 2010-04-28.
Finally the last Tandberg company has disappeared from the Oslo Stock Exchange. The last one was almost precisely a year ago when Tandberg Data and Tandberg Storage went bankrupt, this time it is Tandberg ASA, known for its video conferencing products, that have been acquired by Cisco. Previously Tandberg Television was also acquired by Ericsson and had their trademark changed, the same thing is probably going to happen with the Cisco-owned videoconference-Tandberg.
But the Tandberg name lives on despite all of this, because from the ashes of Tandberg Data the enterprise is carried on, and even if it is now a privately-owned Germany-based company, there is still a small Norway office left, where a dozen or so people from the “old” Tandberg Data are still left.

Det är ju inte utan vidare att jag kommer att tänka på varumärken som Commodore m.fl. Företag må upphöra, men namnen brukar på något sätt ändå leva vidare.
