Shame on you, Nintendo
Published: Saturday 2009-10-31.
My Wii thought it was time for me to install an update today, so I did. Not that I know what improvements it contained, but it did contain a major change for the worse – it uninstalled Homebrew Channel, a program I have installed on my Wii to be able to play home-made games. Apparently they have found new vulnerabilities in the new version, so it shouldn’t be difficult to reinstall, but it is still irritating that Nintendo is trying to stop me from playing my LucasArts games any longer.
True, Homebrew Channel is not something
officially licensed
by Nintendo, but they they cannot have any right to just remove the
program from my machine like that?
Shame on you, Nintendo.
Update: The updated version was easy to re-install, so now I have my Homebrew Channel back, but it is still not very nice of Nintendo to remove it for me.
