Reflections from a Swede in Norway.

Here you will find my small graffiti board where I write about things I come to think about.

In my blog, I write about the general unfairness of life, about spam mail, vintage computers, board games, Norwegians, current and not-so-current affairs, technology and whatever else occurs to me — in other words, a glorious mess. All opinion expressed here are of course my own, and all similarities with any living people is of course intentional.

Re-inventing the web

Published: Tuesday 2009-06-16.

[Today, we unveiled Opera Unite, A new technology that shakes up the old client-server computing model of the Web.]

This is what the announcement last week was all about. Unite makes it as easy to install a simple web server to share data from your computer as Widgets made it to install a small application to display data from remote servers.

No new technologies being introduced, but it uses the existing technologies in a new way, by allowing the users to control their own content. Now you can share your photos without having to upload them to Flickr, or chat with your friends without installing Jabber. You decide yourself.
