Today I am home alone, Thea is visiting a friend and has brought Jenny. It feels a bit strange, empty and quiet. I am spending my day trying to get any kind of order to all the video we have filmed. First I hit the roof on what my MacBook can tackle, then I tried, and failed, with getting the camera working under Linux, so now I have bought a license for Pinnacle Studio Ultimate, which I am trying to get to work.

It could go better. On the third attempt I get it to actually save the data after having copied it (in real-time) from the tape. Now I am trying to figure out why I can’t watch the clips while I am trying to edit them. It doesn’t seem to be quite problem free. Perhaps it is because I am running it under the Windows 7 beta 1? I have just downloaded the release candidate, but not installed it yet since it seems one has to do a complete re-install, it is apparently not possible to upgrade from the beta. Annoying.

So the question is whether the wedding video from last year, and all the clips we have filmed with Jenny, ever are going to get edited…
