Reflections from a Swede in Norway.

Here you will find my small graffiti board where I write about things I come to think about.

In my blog, I write about the general unfairness of life, about spam mail, vintage computers, board games, Norwegians, current and not-so-current affairs, technology and whatever else occurs to me — in other words, a glorious mess. All opinion expressed here are of course my own, and all similarities with any living people is of course intentional.

Observed radio silence

Published: Tuesday 2008-10-07.

Something that I like about Norwegian cable TV is that you have access to Swedish channels, on the TV I have SVT 1, SVT 2 and TV 4, and on the radio I have had access to Swedish Radio’s P1–P4 (with local news from Radio Värmland). At least until now. Suddenly the P3 frequency went silent, so I wrote to the customer service mentioning it. This is the response I got (in translation):

There have been some changes to radio channels and locations in Oslo and surrounding areas. (From 01.10).

Swedish P1 is replaced by Radio Sweden on the frequency 95,9 Mhz
Swedish P2 på 97,0 Mhz ceases
Swedish P3 på 97,7 Mhz ceases
Swedish P4 på 96,5 Mhz, will continue to exist.

Sincerely

I want my Swedish radio back! If not, I guess I will have to buy one of those combined FM, DAB and Internet radio receivers and get it that way, but I like being able to receive it directly over the antenna socket.
