Why I do not like spam

If you are reading my blog, you might wonder about why I react so forcefully to spam. The answer is simple; I do not like people who ruin it for others. Because that is exactly what they are doing, the people who send out spam. Right now, for instance, Telenor here in Norway have big problems in their e-mail systems due to spamming (translated):

Since Sunday abnormally large amounts of spam aimed at our servers have unfortunately led to problems with the e-mail system. At times, sending and receiving e-mail has been slow.

Spamming is abuse of free and open systems, theft of time, resources and money, and in many cases nowadays illegal in big parts of the world. That is why I do not like it.
