Reflections from a Swede in Norway.

Here you will find my small graffiti board where I write about things I come to think about.

In my blog, I write about the general unfairness of life, about spam mail, vintage computers, board games, Norwegians, current and not-so-current affairs, technology and whatever else occurs to me — in other words, a glorious mess. All opinion expressed here are of course my own, and all similarities with any living people is of course intentional.

Unconnected tidbits

Published: Friday 2007-12-21.

Today is the shortest day of the year, now we can look forward to longer days and more daylight. Not bad, with a few days to Christmas.

There is chaos on Oslo airport Gardermoen. Because of that it is nice that we are planning to travel by train this Christmas, as long as they avoid cutting more of the cables, that is.

It has been a long time since a new version was released of the e-mail client I use, Pine, but now its successor has arrived, Alpine was released yesterday. I intend to try it out, soon.

Now at Christmas time we celebrate two important jubilees in the computer world, Perl turned 20 this Tuesday and the transistor is 60 on the day before Christmas. Without the transistor we wouldn’t have had computers, and without Perl we wouldn’t have unreadable scripts, two important breakthrough in electronics.
