Today is the shortest day of the year, now we can look forward to longer days and more daylight. Not bad, with a few days to Christmas.
Now at Christmas time we celebrate two important jubilees in the computer world, Perl turned 20 this Tuesday and the transistor is 60 on the day before Christmas. Without the transistor we wouldn’t have had computers, and without Perl we wouldn’t have unreadable scripts, two important breakthrough in electronics.
