A couple of weeks ago I went to the cinema to see Fantastic Four – Rise of the Silver Surfer, the sequel to the first Fantastic Four movie that was shown two years ago and that wasn’t received very well. This film is a lot better, however.

The film start off with Reed Richards and Sue Storm having decided to marry (just like in the cartoon), but of course you cannot just marry like that, obviously it is just then that Galactus comes to destroy the Earth, led by his herald, the Silver Surfer.

They have managed to balance the love story between Reed and Sue against all the super-hero action one can expect from a Marvel film in a good way, and in addition they get off without having spend a large part of the film having to explain the background story, which I believe is what flopped the first part. Also, I do think it did help that the film is just one and a half hour long, you never have time to get bored.
