Reflections from a Swede in Norway.

Here you will find my small graffiti board where I write about things I come to think about.

In my blog, I write about the general unfairness of life, about spam mail, vintage computers, board games, Norwegians, current and not-so-current affairs, technology and whatever else occurs to me — in other words, a glorious mess. All opinion expressed here are of course my own, and all similarities with any living people is of course intentional.

Chris Benoit and other wrestling

Published: Wednesday 2007-06-27.

It is sad that the few times you hear about professional wrestling in the news it is mostly the bad kind of news. Something has obviously gone wrong when a person, in this case a popular wrestler, according to sources, murders his wife and seven year old son and then commits suicide. According to the article, the police is investigating whether steroids can be tied to the crime, which is not entirely unlikely — although the WWE claims to be actively working against steroid use wrestlers are on and off exposed as being involved in steroid scandals. It is tragic when it leads to such consequences. Chris Benoit was a good wrestler.

Despite what has happened I still think professional wrestling is interesting, and I try to attend the shows from the local wrestling federation when I have the time. In addition, Eurosport has started airing TNA wrestling, albeit at a slightly less viewer-friendly time of Tuesday nights at a quarter past eleven, and unfortunately not with the original commentary. Eurosport 2 also airs New Japan Pro Wrestling, so now it is just WWE that is missing.
