Reflections from a Swede in Norway.

Here you will find my small graffiti board where I write about things I come to think about.

In my blog, I write about the general unfairness of life, about spam mail, vintage computers, board games, Norwegians, current and not-so-current affairs, technology and whatever else occurs to me — in other words, a glorious mess. All opinion expressed here are of course my own, and all similarities with any living people is of course intentional.

As seen on TV

Published: Thursday 2007-03-22.

Tonight I have been to the recording of tomorrow’s Nytt på nytt (based on a BBC show called Have I Got News For You). I have talked about it for quite some time, and finally my beloved girlfriend had it with it never happening, and bought two tickets to tonight’s recording. Unfortunately she is out of town, so I had to go there without her, and since everyone I asked if they wanted to join either had other plans or didn’t want to, I ended up sending a letter on a mailing list at work and got a colleague to join me. It had been a while since the last time I went to a large TV recording, but it is definitely something I should do more often.

This night’s participants was a sports reporter from NRK and a trumpet player. I had never heard about the latter, but as it happened my colleague is an amateur bandsman and knew very well who Ole Edvard Antonsen is. We also get to know, after the programme, that he knew who the little brother of my colleague was, they had apparently played together. Sometimes the world is small.

The programme that is aired is just half an hour long, whereas the recording took one and a half hour. There was some plump humour, which probably will be edited away, but it will be interesting to see what else gets edited away since many of the jokes continued on what had been said before. The entire programme was recorded in one go, without stops and retakes, I guess that is what they have to do with this kind of a show. It was just one line that they had to do a retake of at the end, probably because we had laughed in the wrong place, or something like that. It was also interesting to see that the scoring actually is related to who wins the various tasks, it is probably just that we don’t get to see all of them in TV, while they still have scored them.

NRK 1, Friday, 20:55.

Jag känner också igen det namnet, såpass mycket att jag visste att han är norrman och solotrumpetare, men jag har nog aldrig hört honom spela. Han var solist med Västerås Sinfonietta hösten 2005.
