I went to see ice hockey yesterday. As you know, I now live at Vålerenga in Oslo, and in addition to a football team, VIF also has an ice hockey team, which yesterday played the second quarter final in the Norwegian championship, against Furuset, another team from Oslo. It wasn’t the best match I have ever seen, it ended 3-0 for Vålerenga after a rather clumsy play, but it was still fun to watch.
It is interesting to have to move to Norway to get away to watch ice hockey, since it after all is a Swedish national sport, and Norway isn’t really known for having world class ice hockey, even if they do appear in the A world championships from time to time. I haven’t been to an ice hockey match in real life before, only watched it on TV, but now that I live in walking distance from the ice hockey arena it is fun to just be able to go and see a match.
