Reflections from a Swede in Norway.

Here you will find my small graffiti board where I write about things I come to think about.

In my blog, I write about the general unfairness of life, about spam mail, vintage computers, board games, Norwegians, current and not-so-current affairs, technology and whatever else occurs to me — in other words, a glorious mess. All opinion expressed here are of course my own, and all similarities with any living people is of course intentional.

TV news, both on and below

Published: Thursday 2007-01-18.

Sweden got its eight years ago, Denmark its just before Christmas, and now Norwegian got its own country-wide around-the-clock news channel. Finally, I say, the news junkie that I am.

When I visit Sweden, SVT24 is one of the channels I often watch, to get a quick news update and not having to wait for one of the “big” news programmes, and despite the Oslo cable networks carrying both SVT1 and 2 and TV4, none of them have any plans on carrying the 24. So initiative from the privately owned TV2 in a news channel is very welcome from my part. Now I don’t have to turn on CNN International or BBC World to get the latest news, and I get the interesting national news that the big giants are missing.

Speaking of TV, or rather what gets connected to it, it is not only my workplace that has bought a Wii, I have managed to acquire one for myself as well. Despite it being sold out in all the electronics shops I checked with, Elkjp’s on-line shop for a short while had a package in store in the middle of last week. I managed to order it, my copy arrived on Saturday, and I have been playing Wii Sports (bowling is fun), Zelda (although not to well) and GT Pro Series (with a steering wheel, which should be awarded a prize in the “make the player look stupid” class) a bit since then. That, and that my girlfriend’s brother have been visiting, has unfortunately lead to me not posting to my blog for a while.
