Reflections from a Swede in Norway.

Here you will find my small graffiti board where I write about things I come to think about.

In my blog, I write about the general unfairness of life, about spam mail, vintage computers, board games, Norwegians, current and not-so-current affairs, technology and whatever else occurs to me — in other words, a glorious mess. All opinion expressed here are of course my own, and all similarities with any living people is of course intentional.

Feature films in your mobile

Published: Thursday 2006-10-26.

When I turned on my mobile phone after having landed in Stockholm on Tuesday night and put in my new 3G prepaid card was a message saying that the new movie Förortsungar was having its world premiere in the mobile phone. Since I had a long train ride to Linköping ahead of me I thought it was worth a try.

[Message from Tele2Comviq: The movie Förortsungar premieres in your mobile mobile phone]
Message from Tele2Comviq

You could say that it didn’t work very well… I was able to watch the first minute or so before the train entered its first tunnel and the mobile coverage disappeared, and then not just the movie froze, but my entire phone. After having switched to the X2000 to Linköping I tried again, and then I got a bit longer, but as soon as the coverage got bad the film stopped playing and was difficult to quit. When I finally had checked in to the hotel in Linköping I tried a last time, but with more or less the same result, even though I was sitting still.

It is possible that it there was something wrong my mobile phone, but nevertheless I think that to get this to be very popular, it does need a bit more work…
