Reflections from a Swede in Norway.

Here you will find my small graffiti board where I write about things I come to think about.

In my blog, I write about the general unfairness of life, about spam mail, vintage computers, board games, Norwegians, current and not-so-current affairs, technology and whatever else occurs to me — in other words, a glorious mess. All opinion expressed here are of course my own, and all similarities with any living people is of course intentional.

Superman Returns

Published: Saturday 2006-07-29.

After the disappointing Pirates of the Caribbean a couple of days ago we went to see Superman Returns on its premiere yesterday.

I watched all old Superman movies as a kid and I have, like everyone else, probably always been fascinated by Superman (although I later have come to prefer Spiderman as my hero numero uno). It is very “hip” to make movies out of cartoons these days, and it wasn’t very surprising that there would be a new Superman movie. Unlike last year’s Batman Begins, which rewrites the history behind Batman, Superman Returns builds on the previous movies—after having been way for several years, Superman returns to Earth, but not everything has stood still since he left.

Of course Lex Luthor also returns as a villain, and immediately starts making up his evil plans. I cannot remember all the details from the first films, so I am not sure that the time-line corresponds completely with them, but that doesn’t matter too much.

In conclusion, this is a classic Superman movie and I think it well worth watching, both for those that have seen the old films, and those who have not. There’s just one detail I always have wondered about: if Superman breathes like everyone else, how can he then survive in a vacuum?

Jag läste att han som spelar Stålmannen var för välväxt för sin kostym, så de måste retuschera vissa scener digitalt i efterhand... :) Lite som det påstods att de fick göra med Lindsay Lohans scener i Herbie-filmen förra året.
