Happy Lucia day!
Published: Tuesday 2005-12-13.
Happy Lucia day! Now the winter is at its darkest, but soon the light will return. Lucia symbolises the return of light, that now it will not get any darker, now it turns around and it will soon be spring and summer!
Yesterday night I spent making “Lucia cats”, the traditional Swedish Lucia saffron bun. After some initial problems I have to say that the end result really was really good. To wake up on the Lucia morning and have gingerbread and saffron buns for breakfast, that has to be the best there is, and it helps cure the homesickness I often tend to feel on this day...
