Today I spent a wonderful spring day in Bergen and at least managed to visit the most important tourist attraction (trap?) in Bergen, Fløibanen up to mount Fløyen. Fløibanen is a cable car that starts off in central Bergen and goes up along the mountain side to (now I read from the ticket) to the ending station at 320 metres above sea level at a speed of 4–6 metres per second with a maximum grade at 26 degrees. According to the advertisement, this is the only railway of its kind in Scandinavia and it is definitely worth a visit if opportunity knocks.
Since the weather was so beautiful, the sun shining from a clear blue sky and the temperature was at least fifteen degrees, we walked down to the harbour area and had lunch at an open-air café. Most definitely a nice way to spend a weekend.
