Happy birthday, Sweden

When I lived in Sweden, I didn’t celebrate the Swedish national day, but after moving abroad it feels natural to notice the day. Here in Oslo the national day is celebrated with a speech and singing of the national anthem outside the Swedish church, followed by a concert indoors. The thing that feels the most Swedish, however, is to take part of the community singing of the well-known Swedish hymn “Den blomstertid nu kommer”...

Eftersom musikkåren jag är med i aldrig anlitas till nationaldagen, brukar jag heller aldrig komma mig för att deltaga i firandet. Trots det fina vädret och att det var söndag igår höll jag mig hemma nästan hela dagen.
Däremot spelade vi i lördags, på men inte för Danmarks grundlagsdag...
