After continuous correspondence regarding the invoicing date inconsistencies I wrote about two days ago and yesterday, I received the following reply from Fjordkraft, my electricity vendor. With these I’ll leave the subject for this time (even though I’m not completely convinced something fishy isn’t going on.)

Hi!

I have inquired the people that send the files to BBS, and the date that is written on the invoice is the date the invoice is sent from us to BBS. In exceptional cases it may be that the files are sent too late to those that forward them, then they will be sent to BBS the following morning. We have a rule that we send out invoices at least 14 days before the due date.

Transactions and transmissions between the banks and BBS can take some time, and the communication between the systems is probably automated and hard to do anything about. If there has been particular delays now in conjunction with your invoice is hard to tell without knowing specifically which invoice we are talking about. You have the option of looking at the invoice yourself using your customer account at www.bkk.no, where it will be transmitted the same instance we send the file to BBS.

Oh, and tonight I will of course be seated in front of the TV watching “Melodifestivalen”. I haven’t quite decided what channel to watch it on, though, I do like HC Andersen’s as a commentator, but maybe I should go with Swedish TV?

Melodifestivalen får mig tyvärr inte att tända till som den har gjort förr. Det blir för mycket med fyra deltävlingar, en uppsamlingsomgång och sedan nationell final. Till råga på allt slutade den enda sången jag kunde nynna dagen efteråt näst sist (Nina & Kim).

Numera tillhör jag den här skaran som varje år försöker påvisa att de tävlande låtarna har stulit från redan etablerade låtar. Till viss del är det omöjligt att undvika inser jag som musiker och hobbykompositör, men ibland är det väl genomskinliga plankningar. Skulle jag skicka in ett bidrag inspirerat av befintlig musik, skulle jag göra mitt yttersta för att maskera det snarare än musikaliskt tydliggöra släktbanden. Anklagelser om fusk och låtstöld kommer ju ändå som en elräkning på posten. :-)

Peter svarar: Nej, jag har inte följt med så noga på den svenska festivalen de senaste åren jag heller, så jag tänkte ta ett krafttag nu och faktiskt se alla deltävlningar. Jag gillar dock Melodifestivalen och Eurovision Song Contest skarpt, jag tycker det är en kul tävling. Men jag måste nog medge att jag har glömt bort hur låtarna lät igår jag med... Min favorit igår var f.ö Sarek.
