Guest book spammers
Published: Saturday 2004-02-07.
Yes, thank you, I have noticed the spammers that post their crap in my guest book, only having come in by searching for ”sign my guest book” in Google, or something similar. I have had to implement spam filters in my guest book software, and, since it hasn’t stopped it completely, to add a redirector script that I have set up to hide from search engines, masking all links posted, as links to spammers from a page with a good Google PageRank (such as this site) would boost the spammers site in the rankings.
I have even considered closing my guest book completely because of this, but I still get interesting comments from time to time, so I really don’t want to — it would be giving in to the criminals that abuse it, something I will not do.

Subject: Sign Guestbook for More TrafficHello,
I was amazed by the traffic generated by a simple posting my URL in GuestBooks.
This is a secret top Traffic Sellers have been using for Years!
Get a list of all the guestbooks you can, post something like "Great Site" and make sure you include the URL to your home site.
To make it easier: Start out by signing my guestbook and you'll see your traffic increase!

P.S. It's a Great way to Get Indexed by the Search Engines Too.
