Reflections from a Swede in Norway.

Here you will find my small graffiti board where I write about things I come to think about.

In my blog, I write about the general unfairness of life, about spam mail, vintage computers, board games, Norwegians, current and not-so-current affairs, technology and whatever else occurs to me — in other words, a glorious mess. All opinion expressed here are of course my own, and all similarities with any living people is of course intentional.

Tonight, I attended the awarding of the prize for the promotion of free software in Norway, which is awarded by NUUG and HiO. Well-deserved winner this year was Trolltech, the creators of Qt, and also the possessors of the offices on the floor below Opera Software, where I work.

The Trolltech representative had obviously not expected to receive the prize, but started the acceptance speech like this, in a Norwegian with a noticeable accent, I’m not a pr man, and not Norwegian, and I’m definitely not prepared...

Because I helped administrating the web site for DebConf³, which was held this summer in Oslo, arranged by NUUG, I was invited to the subsequent dinner. That was very nice, it’s not that often I get invited for free food like that ☺... but it is of course nice that the group shows the acknowledgement.
