Reflections from a Swede in Norway.

Here you will find my small graffiti board where I write about things I come to think about.

In my blog, I write about the general unfairness of life, about spam mail, vintage computers, board games, Norwegians, current and not-so-current affairs, technology and whatever else occurs to me — in other words, a glorious mess. All opinion expressed here are of course my own, and all similarities with any living people is of course intentional.

Sports and computers

Published: Sunday 2003-10-05.

I’ve finally pulled myself together and added an update to my wrestling pages. For various reasons I haven’t done anything with the pages since January, which is a bit sad considering it is a very popular part of my web site.

Speaking of computers I have gotten my computer not to emit the headache-inducing frequencies anymore, partly by spinning down the second harddisk (which seems to be the one making the noise) when it is not in use (I only use it for backups), and partly by running it on a lower speed when it is actually in use. hdparm is a nice program:

/sbin/hdparm -M 128 -S 60 /dev/hdb

By the way, I do not write all these postings in advance, sometimes I write them after the fact (like the one for this Friday). This entry was written during the day and the finishing touches were added just before 21 o’clock.

Now I’m going to bed early so that I have can wake up in time to see the semi final of the women’s football world cup early tomorrow (04:30)...
